The Building Maintenance Operator should have some exposure to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety systems, and general facility maintenance.Responsibilities:

• Support Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary, and hygienically sound workplace.
• Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance as necessary.
• Develop a high level of knowledge concerning equipment in the facility.
• Perform pre-shift inspection of the sweeper, clean the sweeper after every use, and inform the Supervisor if it is not working correctly.
• Always drive safely and responsibly.
• Operate small balers, shovels, brooms, and pallet jacks to remove waste from the plant floor.
• Clean the outside parameters of the facility as requested.
• Plumbing as needed.
• Basic low-voltage electrical work.
• Building desks and basic facilities upkeep.
• Assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire safety systems, including sprinklers and alarms.
• Apply working knowledge of fire codes and emergency response protocols.
• All other facilities maintenance duties as requested.

Other Responsibilities May Include:

• Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional materials and supplies.
• Maintain a safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain a specified level of knowledge about new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and/or 2+ years of equivalent experience is required.
• Must have EPA 608 universal license.
• Must be able to work Monday - Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.
• Must be highly knowledgeable with hand and power tools, as well as HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and general construction/carpentry is preferred.
• Experience in fire safety, including working with sprinkler systems, fire alarm panels, or a background as a firefighter or volunteer firefighter is highly preferred.
• Must be highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgment, common sense, and resourcefulness.
• Must be able to adapt and thrive in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment.
• Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the company.
• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, climbing, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crawling, seeing, and repetitive motions.
