Shipping Clerk Department: Warehouse / Logistics Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor or Logistics Manager Job Summary The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, processing, and tracking outgoing shipments to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products to customers or distribution centers. This role involves verifying orders, coordinating with carriers, maintaining shipping records, and supporting overall warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities ● Prepare and process outgoing shipments in accordance with company policies and customer requirements ● Verify order accuracy, including product counts, labeling, and documentation ● Pack, seal, and label boxes or pallets appropriately ● Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation ● Schedule pickups and coordinate with carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL) ● Maintain accurate shipment records in warehouse management systems ● Track shipments and resolve delivery issues or discrepancies ● Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed ● Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified) ● Maintain a clean and organized shipping area ● Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines Required Qualifications ● High school diploma or equivalent ● Previous experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics preferred ● Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping software ● Strong attention to detail and accuracy ● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods ● Good communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications ● Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) ● Forklift certification ● Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations Work Environment ● Warehouse setting with moderate noise levels ● May require overtime during peak seasons ● Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking
