Action Group Staffing is currently seeking experienced Ophthalmic Technicians to join a busy ophthalmology practice in Waxahachie, TX 75165. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with ophthalmology experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced clinical environment while providing exceptional patient care.

Position SummaryThe Ophthalmic Technician provides clinical and technical support by performing specialized diagnostic testing, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, assisting physicians during retinal treatments, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Essential ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
  • Perform patient intake, medical histories, and chief complaints.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, imaging, and procedures.
  • Educate patients regarding testing, dilation, and treatment expectations.
  • Provide compassionate care while maintaining professionalism.
Ophthalmic TestingPerform:
  • Visual Acuity Testing
  • Intraocular Pressure (IOP)
  • APD Testing
  • Extraocular Movements
  • Confrontational Visual Fields
  • Amsler Grid Testing
  • Pupil Dilation
Advanced Diagnostic Imaging:
  • OCT
  • Fundus Photography
  • Fluorescein Angiography (FA)
Clinical Procedures
  • Assist physicians during retinal laser procedures and injections.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and instruments.
  • Verify consent documentation.
  • Maintain sterile equipment.
Documentation
  • Enter patient information accurately into EMR.
  • Record diagnostic testing and physician findings.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance.
Clinic Operations
  • Maintain clean examination rooms.
  • Restock clinical supplies.
  • Sterilize instruments.
  • Follow OSHA and clinic safety standards.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist front office staff as needed.
  • Travel between locations when necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ophthalmology experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication
  • Ability to multitask in a busy clinic
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
Preferred
  • COA or COT Certification
  • Retina experience
  • Experience with OCT, FA, and Fundus Photography
  • Ability to support multiple providers
