Ophthalmic TechnicianLocation: Dallas, TX
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: Competitive, based on experienceAction Group Staffing is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician for a busy specialty ophthalmology practice in Dallas, TX. This role provides clinical support to physicians by performing patient workups, diagnostic testing, assisting with procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities
  • Perform patient workups, including medical history and chief complaints.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, diagnostic testing, and in-office procedures.
  • Perform ophthalmic testing, including:
    • Visual Acuity
    • Intraocular Pressure (IOP)
    • Visual Fields
    • APD Testing
    • Extraocular Movements (EOM)
    • Pupil Dilation
  • Operate diagnostic equipment, including OCT and Fundus Photography.
  • Assist physicians with laser procedures and intraocular injections.
  • Accurately document patient information and test results in the EMR.
  • Clean, sterilize, and stock exam and procedure rooms.
  • Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and infection-control compliance.
  • Assist with additional clinical duties and travel between clinic locations as needed.
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of ophthalmology experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Professional appearance and dependable attendance.
  • COA or COT certification.
  • Experience with OCT, Fundus Photography, and retina procedures.
  • Experience supporting multiple providers.
  • Ability to stand and walk for most of the workday.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Comfortable working around clinical equipment and bloodborne pathogens.
