High School Diploma or GED required
Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
Previous customer service experience required
Front desk and administrative experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office
Basic computer and electronic medical records (EMR) experience preferred
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Clinical Responsibilities
Record and update patient medical histories
Measure and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
Assist physicians during patient exams and minor procedures
Apply and change wound dressings
Collect blood, urine, and other specimens for laboratory testing
Prepare and label specimens for laboratory analysis
Sterilize medical instruments and disinfect examination rooms
Set up and operate medical equipment, including EKG machines
Assist with medication preparation and administration as directed
Support wound care and other clinical procedures
Educate patients on procedures, medications, and post-visit care instructions
Administrative Responsibilities
Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments
Manage referrals and follow-up appointments
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
Enter test results, diagnoses, and treatment information into the EMR system
Assist with insurance verification, medical coding, and claims processing
Process patient payments and maintain billing records
Answer incoming phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and route messages appropriately
Welcome patients, manage check-in/check-out, and ensure smooth patient flow
Monitor inventory and order medical and office supplies as needed
