Job Description

Position: Mechanical Assembly TechnicianPay Type: Hourly
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm
Pay Rate: $21.00–$24.00 per hour (based on experience)About the RoleThis position supports a manufacturing and automation operation specializing in the design, build, and installation of advanced parcel and material handling systems. The organization focuses on high-quality, efficient, and modular automation solutions that improve operational performance and reduce labor demands.Work Environment
  • Climate-controlled warehouse
  • Two paid 15-minute breaks
  • Standard schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Minimal overtime and weekend work
Key Responsibilities
  • Use power tools and hand tools to assemble large-scale automation equipment
  • Assemble subassemblies, modules, and complete machine systems according to engineering specifications
  • Verify parts against stock lists and blueprints for accuracy and completeness
  • Lay out, drill, and tap holes on components for assembly
  • Ensure proper alignment and tolerances of moving parts
  • Test equipment operation manually and using powered controls
  • Set up and operate machinery to confirm performance and conformance to specifications
  • Use tools such as wrenches, calipers, and gauges to complete precision work
  • Operate basic machine shop equipment, including lathes, to fabricate or repair parts
  • Conduct quality control inspections to compare finished components against blueprint requirements
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with safety standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2–4 years of relevant mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, manuals, and safety guidelines
  • Familiarity with machine shop equipment, hand tools, and material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes)
  • Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagram-based instructions and analyze data
  • Flexibility to work overtime when needed to meet production demands
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to best practices
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent bending, twisting, and use of hands
