JOB SUMMARY: This position operates in one of three areas: Disassembly, Component Salvage or Assembly. This can include the preparation and disassembly of compressor cores to their usable inventory state, measuring, qualifying and cleaning durable components and/or assembly of various types and models of compressors. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: ● Performs various manual operations on compressor items, including mechanical disassembly, part cleaning, sandblasting, de-burring, grinding, baking, etc. ● General compressor preparation including, but not limited to, cleaning, painting, labeling etc. ● Keep the assigned work area and equipment clean and orderly. ● Cleaning, measuring and qualifying parts against defined specifications to determine the usability of components ● Assemble components into a complete compressor. ● Perform mechanical assembly tasks using standard hand tools with minimal supervision. This includes pneumatic power equipment, hoists, power tools, and assembly of close-tolerance moving parts. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Identifies components and selects the correct parts and tools for assemblies. ● Operates mechanical assembly equipment ● Observes and reports abnormalities and quality defects ● Operates material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage #INDOKC
