Action Group Staffing is currently seeking a Cook for a temporary assignment in a healthcare setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable cook who takes pride in preparing quality meals and understands the importance of nutrition, consistency, and care in supporting residents’ daily well-being.Job Requirements:
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen required
Healthcare, institutional, or high-volume cooking experience preferred
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe preferred)
Ability to work independently and prepare meals for large groups
Strong organizational and time management skills
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Pass drug test and background check
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook daily lunch and dinner for approximately 60 residents
Plan and execute meals including a main entrée, one side dish, and one vegetable
Ensure meals meet portion, nutritional, and dietary guidelines as directed
Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
Manage time efficiently to ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule
Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs as necessary
Collaborate with kitchen assistant on dishwashing, cleaning, and salad bar maintenance
