We are looking for an experienced CMM Inspector for a company located in Paterson, NJ, to support inspection and quality activities in a job-shop environment. This position requires strong dimensional inspection skills, the ability to interpret complex drawings and tolerances, and sound judgment when evaluating precision CNC-manufactured components. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working closely with machinists, engineering, and quality leadership. Responsibilities of the CMM Inspector:
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on CNC-manufactured components
Inspect close-tolerance parts with requirements ranging from ±.001" to ±.0005"
Read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T requirements
Utilize inspection equipment including micrometers, linear height gauges, depth micrometers, CMM equipment, and related measuring tools
Accurately complete inspection reports and required quality documentation
Troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and identify potential inspection issues
Manage multiple inspection priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Support ISO 9001 and AS9100 audit activities
Evaluate part acceptability based on drawing requirements and customer intent
Perform daily CMM equipment checks and routine maintenance
Conduct probe calibration and machine accuracy verification
Maintain measuring equipment, inspection tools, and fixtures in proper working condition
Support equipment qualification and validation activities
Follow appropriate environmental controls to maintain measurement accuracy
Assist with probe selection and measurement strategy development

Pay rate $28 per hour

Requirements of the CMM Inspector:
2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or job-shop environment
Strong working knowledge of blueprint reading, inspection instruments, tolerancing, and GD&T
5 years of experience inspecting precision CNC-machined components
Hands-on experience using micrometers, height gauges, depth micrometers, CMMs, and other precision measuring equipment
Knowledge of close-tolerance inspection practices
Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and ITAR quality requirements
Understanding of surface finish measurement and analysis
Experience troubleshooting measurement discrepancies and performing failure analysis
