Job Description

BuyerLocation: Tulsa, OKPay: $60k - $80kPosition SummaryAction Group Staffing is seeking an experienced Buyer for a manufacturing client in the Tulsa area. This role is responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of components that support production schedules. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, excels at building supplier relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced setting where priorities can change quickly.Responsibilities
  • Purchase raw materials, components, and supplies to support manufacturing operations. 
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages while minimizing excess inventory. 
  • Review production schedules and forecast purchasing needs. 
  • Create and manage purchase orders within the ERP/MRP system. 
  • Track supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality issues. 
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Planning, and Receiving to resolve material shortages and expedite critical orders. 
  • Analyze purchasing trends and identify cost-saving opportunities. 
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor information. 
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and supply chain best practices. 
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience purchasing production materials and components. 
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to build and maintain productive supplier relationships. 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and supply chain best practices is preferred. 
Preferred Experience
  • Manufacturing purchasing experience. 
  • Inventory planning and material management. 
  • Supplier negotiations and vendor management. 
  • Cost reduction initiatives. 
  • Production planning support. 
  • Continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing exposure is a plus.
