Job Description
Job Title: Reefer/Service Truck Technician Action Group Staffing is seeking an experienced Reefer/Service Truck Technician to perform on-site maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units. This role supports customer locations and dealership facilities while ensuring all work meets DOT compliance and safety standards.Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to work in all weather and climate conditions
Flexibility with work hours, including after-hours service calls as needed
Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain repair needs and costs
Self-starter with the ability to diagnose issues and determine whether repairs can be safely completed on-site or require shop service
Experience in welding, electrical, fabrication, sheet metal, and mechanical work
Diesel engine experience preferred
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Reliable attendance (schedule may vary by dealership location)
Professional appearance in accordance with company guidelines
DOT certification in FHWA Inspections & Air Brakes preferred
Must supply own tools
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Pay: $25-$30 per hour depending on experienceShift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.
Troubleshoot and perform routine and corrective maintenance on vehicles, including braking systems and hydraulic and air systems for tractors, trailers, and reefer units
Manage repair time efficiently and communicate with service writers, dispatchers, and service managers when additional calls arise
Maintain assigned vehicle maintenance files, including DOT compliance documentation
Safely operate company-owned vehicles, equipment, and tractor-trailer units within terminal premises and on public roadways
Perform test drives or deliver equipment to and from customer or dealership locations
Prepare and maintain maintenance records in accordance with company policies and state and federal regulations
Read, write, and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
