Automation TechnicianPay: $39.21/hourSchedule: 12-hour day shifts on a rotating 2-2-3 schedulePosition SummaryA leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join its maintenance team. This is a long-term opportunity offering a stable work environment, competitive pay, and opportunities for career growth. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial automation, electrical systems, PLCs, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment.Responsibilities
Perform electrical and instrumentation maintenance, including replacing and repairing components.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and automation equipment to minimize downtime.
Assist with programming, monitoring, and maintaining automated control systems.
Identify root causes of production and quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Support production during equipment outages and assist with safety improvements.
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems.
Maintain robotic equipment and automated machinery, ensuring proper mechanical and electrical operation.
Collect and analyze PLC input/output data to improve equipment performance.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve processes and equipment reliability.
Recommend equipment and process improvements.
Follow all safety procedures, GMP standards, and sanitation requirements.
Assist with training team members as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Technical degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Automation, Engineering, or a related field preferred; or at least two (2) years of related industrial maintenance experience.
Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment with automated equipment.
Knowledge of PLCs, electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial controls.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
