Job Title: FSQA SupervisorFull time, 2nd Shift, 3:30 pm-12 am Action Group Staffing is seeking an experienced FSQA Supervisor for a Meat Processing Plant in Owasso. Salary: $60,000+ DOEQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in food science, Animal Science, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety within food processing.
Minimum 2 years in a leadership role within a QA/Food Safety environment.
In-depth knowledge of food safety systems including HACCP, SSOP, GMPs
HACCP Certification required within 180 days of hire.
GFSI certification (e.g., BRC) required within one year of hire.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Bilingual a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as a working FSQA Technician as needed to ensure coverage of essential duties.
Assume responsibility for completing foreign material incident reports, SSOP, and HACCP deviation reports in the absence of the FSQA Manager.
Oversee and verify daily HACCP, SSOP, and other food safety monitoring records.
Conduct daily reviews of food safety.
Collaborate with FSIS inspectors to address immediate concerns or non-conformances.
Provide backup support to the 3rd Shift FSQA Lead for the microbiological testing program, including swab collection, sample preparation, result interpretation, and COA creation.
Organize and lead HACCP team meetings, including documenting meeting minutes and maintaining team effectiveness.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable regulations, including USDA-FSIS, State and Local guidelines, and Weights and Measures standards.
Assist in the maintenance and annual review of the HACCP, SSOP, and other food safety/quality programs.
Support and help manage BRC certification systems and associated documentation.
Act as the HACCP Coordinator for the facility, including responsibility for pre-shipment reviews.
Lead and document internal and external facility audits, including monthly assessments.
Provide training and ongoing development to FSQA Technicians.
Report daily food safety issues and concerns to the FSQA Manager and provide coaching and accountability to FSQA staff.
Participate in and ensure compliance with BRC standards for your department, including hygiene, allergen control, product inspection, and corrective actions.
Interpret and apply customer specifications for food safety and quality requirements.
Ensure adequate FSQA staffing coverage when the FSQA Manager is absent.
Monitor and trend product quality attributes for continuous improvement.
Place non-conforming products on hold and coordinate with departments regarding disposition or release.
Participate in investigations and corrective actions related to HACCP deviations, foreign object incidents, microbiological findings, and GFSI audits.
Investigate recordkeeping and FSQA staff performance issues and assist in performance evaluations.
Conduct regular pre-operational inspections and weekly food safety/quality walk-throughs.
Participate in traceability exercises and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with USDA and plant teams.
Manage, prepare and ensure all FSQA documentation or documentation pertaining to FSQA is properly completed, in compliance, and filed according to regulatory/company standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises subordinate FSQA Leads and Technicians.
Responsible for managing workflow, assigning tasks, performance appraisals, coaching, training, disciplinary actions, and resolving operational issues in accordance with company policies and relevant regulations.
