Job Overview

The Supply Chain Manager / Materials Manager will be responsible for efficient and effective day to day management of the supply chain side of the business. The candidate will take the managerial lead and provide support for tactical and functional execution of business strategies. The candidate must be willing and able to take on tasks and assignments that might be otherwise outside of their normal job description. The candidate must be able to analyze data and processes, find creative solutions, generate reports and present findings to upper management and other departments, successfully negotiate with external suppliers and buyers, comprehend legal documents, and develop lasting relationships with others. They must be proactive problem solvers with a desire to collaborate with others.

Job Responsibilities

- Planning & Procurement

- Capacity Planning / Production Planning for multiple manufacturing centers

- Purchasing materials necessary for production

- Review and approval of supplier invoices

- Project management, cost accounting, forecasting, vendor management, customer service

Inventory Management

- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies

- Arrange inventory transfers between facilities

- Manage inventory reconciliation process

- Manage and participate in discrepancy resolutions

- Conduct physical inventories

- Logistics Management (outbound/inbound freight)

- Manage logistics function of business including inbound and outbound freight

- Assess and implement opportunities to reduce total freight spend

- Customer service support for inbound and outbound shipments

- Write & review department process documents

- Prepare internal operations reports

- Actively pursue options to improve business performance

Qualifications

- 4+ years experience in supply chain or materials management required, including supervisory experience

- Undergraduate degree in a business related discipline desired

- Excellent Microsoft Office skills are necessary

- Results oriented, flexible, resourceful and self-motivated, independent, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables concurrently

- Strong analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills

- Detail oriented and experienced in follow-through and completion of projects

- Strong time-management skills and sense of urgency

- CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP strongly desired
