Job Description
Millwright Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to work with the maintenance department to maintain mill equipment to mill standards and reduce unscheduled downtime. To be able to safely install, repair and maintains to manufacturer’s specifications, machinery, mechanical equipment, engines, motors, pumps, piping, pneumatic tools and equipment, conveyor systems, and process machines and equipment specific to the paper recycling and manufacturing industry. Dismantles or disassembles machines and equipment using hand tools and power tools, examines parts for defects. Constructs or modifies foundations for equipment. Inspects equipment for proper operation. Lubricates and cleans parts. Performs preventative maintenance rounds and provide corrective actions for any deficiencies noted.Provide complete maintenance and repair service for plant mobile equipment and plant facilities. Major Job Responsibilities (not all inclusive):
Mechanical ability to install, repair and maintain all equipment throughout the plant utilizing his skills and training and using prints and operation manuals,
Operate machine shop equipment
Operate lift truck, scissor lift, boom lift mobile cranes
Ability to proficiently operate welding equipment, hand tools and power tools.
Perform Preventative maintenance rounds and reporting of any deficiencies
Gain and understanding of the process equipment and the impact to the business when failures occur and work towards reducing unscheduled downtime
Communicate effectively with his teammates and supervisor
Must be able to read, write legibly, interpret instructions, and make decisions as to correct actions to repair machines and equipment.
Qualifications:
A strong commitment to safety
Computer skills.
Fast paced industrial background.
Ability Work 8-12 hour shifts (days) and overtime as required
Respond to mill equipment breakdown needs day or night
Experience operating lift truck
Ability to understand and learn maintenance principles.
Ability to understand and learn manufacturing principles.
Understanding of Industrial Maintenance Programs
Lift up to 50 pounds.
